Nerve tissue damage as a result of surgical injury is common negative outcome during many interventions. Depending on the site and amount cellular damage, nerve may potentially have life altering effect patient. Post-surgical pain often chronic problem which persists long after injuries healed, can severely infringe upon quality for individuals. Surgery that fluorescence guided will aid in visualization structure patterns, significantly improve patient outcomes. Small molecule fluorophores cross blood brain barrier barrier, allowing unparalleled future application interventions involving central peripheral nervous systems. In this research, work was done to synthesize small set fluorescent contrast agents intraoperative highlight real time, with great sensitivity high against background tissues. Though ongoing, absorption spectra be observed way evaluate each synthesized agent. Systemic administration novel rodents help define uptake specificity. order signal ratios, images sites collected quantified. The knowledge garnered from study greatly inform specific, clinical grade, agent development.
